The insulin-like growth factor I receptor (IGF1R) has a tyrosine-protein kinase activity, which is necessary for the activation of the IGF1-stimulated downstream signaling cascade. IGF1R plays a critical role in transformation events. IGF1R is highly overexpressed in most malignant tissues where it functions as an anti-apoptotic agent by enhancing cell survival.
This protein is homologous to amino acid residues H952 to C1367 of published insulin-like growth factor I receptor [Homo sapiens] NP_000866. It also has a poly His tag on the N terminus.
